Hey everyone! I’m Midnight, and I’m super happy you’ve found me! I hope we can experience some amazing things together. Here’s a little bit more about me:
I started playing video games when I was about 13 or 14. I started with The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. Then my friends started playing games like Left 4 Dead and Terraria, but Skyrim was still by far my favourite game. It combined all of the fantasy elements that I liked to read about, and when I messed up in combat, no one cared but me!
Four years ago The Elder Scrolls Online came onto my radar. I believe it was on sale via steam. I was extremely hesitant to try out online gaming due to the whole “stranger danger” aspect since I’d had a relatively sheltered experience gaming just with my friends and their friends. I took the leap, because I had loved Skyrim and wanted more!
It has been a wonderful four years. I have grown as a person through my interactions with guilds in the game and its members. I have become a raid lead for multiple trial groups, and I have discovered that while I might not always be best at the role that I have chosen, I have a great eye for mechanics and I absolutely love helping other people complete content. There’s no better feeling when you’ve been working on a progression for weeks with a group, and it clicks and you are successful. It is a really wonderful feeling, and I have met really wonderful people to enjoy that feeling with. People that I really consider friends and family, even if they’re countries or hours away.
I was able to tie in my love of teaching into the game, something I really truly valued. I had my Bachelor of Education, but there was a serious lack of teaching jobs where I was living and so that led to me being really discouraged and unhappy. So while I searched for a teaching job, I fueled my teaching strategies into learning and teaching trials. I have created guides, kept track of the progress of my team(s), and do my best to help them improve! Elder Scrolls Online has an amazing community that I feel has been really welcoming, and for my first MMO I couldn’t have asked for a better one.
I also started streaming two-and-a-half years ago and that journey has been a really gratifying experience. I have met some of the most generous, helpful, and amazing people through streaming. Starting this year, I also started doing charity streams, supporting causes such as Canadian Food Bank, St. Jude, and Toys for Tots. Our awesome community has raised $651.76 over 6 months total, and I cannot wait to see where we go from here!
